Make sure that you have a smooth, flat surface which is clean and free from any food debris.
Step 1) Ensure the dial on your Sumo base is turned fully to ‘unlock’
Step 2) Slide the hopper into the base ensuring they are both facing forward
Step 3) Place the Sumo onto your bench top and twist the dial all the way to ‘lock’, ensuring that the arrows on the base are fully aligned
Step 4) Insert your chosen drum into the hopper and screw the handle into place by turning the dial on the handle clockwise

The safety hat has a slanted design to allow you push food all the way down to the blade, reducing left over food waste.
It is important that you insert the safety hat into the Sumo Slicer in the correct direction so that it cannot touch the blades.
There is a warning label on the hat advising the correct direction, if you have removed the warning sticker then please watch this handy video.
If your Sumo Slicer is still not suctioning fully after following the above steps, please complete the ‘Plate Test’.
PLATE TEST – Suction your Sumo Slicer directly onto a ceramic plate, if the Sumo suctions fully you may need to find an alternative surface in your kitchen to use your Sumo Slicer. If the Sumo Slicer does not stick to the plate, please give us a message at enquiries@klevarange.com.au and we will be happy to organise a replacement base.
For best results we recommend placing the onion in the fridge of freezer for 30mins before use. Watch this quick video on easy tips for slicing onions.
The stainless steel drums are top-rack dishwasher safe.
All other parts must be hand washed in warm soapy water.
