Does it have to be plugged into a cigarette lighter?

Yes, in order for the unit to be powered, it needs to be plugged into your car's cigarette lighter compartment.

How long is the cigarette lighter power cord?

The power cord is 110cm long.

Does the SmartPlay have built-in speakers?

Are you able to use multiple apps/features at a time?

Yes, you are able to use multiple apps at a time depending on which apps you are wanting to use. For example, you can have your maps app running at the same time as listening to music through your preferred music app.

Is internet required for the apps to function?

Depending on which apps you intend to use, internet is not always required. Some apps allow you to pre-download and save songs, audiobooks, and podcasts when you are within range of Wi-Fi/mobile data, which then allows you to use the app when no internet is present.

My Smartplay screen has frozen! What should I do?

Uh-oh! It’s rare, but just like any tech, your Smartplay screen might freeze now and then. No worries, though—it’s super easy to fix with a quick recalibration!

                Here’s how:

                1. Cup your hand and place all 4 fingers and your thumb on the screen, making sure they all touch.
                2. Hold them there until the screen goes black.
                3. A white plus sign will pop up in the top left corner—tap it, and voilà! Your Smartplay is recalibrated and ready to go again. 😊

                My remote isn’t working—what should I do?

Please ensure you’ve placed batteries inside the remote as they do not come with them. 😊

Once you've don that, here's a quick tip: The sensor for your SmartPlay remote is either on the left or right side of the screen—just look for the small black dot. Make sure to point the remote towards that side for the best experience!

Also, keep in mind that the sensor on the remote doesn’t light up, even when it’s connected.

People can’t hear me properly on my Smartplay—how do I turn up the volume?

Why is my Smartplay making a crackling noise when I play music through my speakers?

Sounds like you’ve got both an aux cable and the FM radio set up at the same time! The crackling happens because there’s too much static or interference. To fix it, just use one method—either the aux cable or the FM transmitter, but not both.

Quick tip: Once you connect Smartplay through the FM transmitter, you won’t be able to change the radio station without losing the Smartplay connection. But don’t worry! Most popular radio stations have apps now. Just download your favorite radio apps, and you can easily switch between them and apps like Spotify or iTunes with no issues at all! 😊

                Why won’t Siri answer me?

No worries! Voice assistants vary depending on your phone—Siri for iPhones, Google Assistant for Androids, and sometimes Bixby for Samsung. To get yours working, make sure it's set up properly on your device.

                Here’s how to get started:

                1. On your iPhone, use Siri, and for Android, open the Google Assistant app.
                2. Say, “Assistant settings” (or for iPhones, "Hey Siri").
                3. Under “Popular settings,” tap Hey Google/Hey Siri and Voice Match.
                4. Turn on Hey Google or Hey Siri.

Follow the prompts so your voice assistant recognizes you, and you’ll be ready to chat hands-free!

My bracket isn’t sticking anymore! What should I do?

No worries! If your bracket isn’t sticking to the windscreen or dashboard, just clean the area with a bit of methylated spirits (metho). Once it’s clean, press the bracket back into your desired spot, and it should stick like new!

My bracket won’t suction and keeps falling off! What should I do?

After sticking the bracket down, make sure to activate the suction. There’s a clip at the back of the sticky cup—just push it upwards once the bracket is in place, and it will create the suction needed to lock it securely. Your bracket should stay put after that!
