Studio footage: the dock emptying the robot's bin.

You never touch the dust. The dock does.

When it finishes, the robot parks on its dock and the dock pulls everything out of it into a clear bin. You can see it fill, so you know it picked the mess up.

  • A 2.5 litre bagless bin, so there are no dust bags to buy
  • You tip it out every few weeks
  • It recharges on the dock, ready for the next clean

Set it once. It does the rest.

After the first set-up, the floors get done whether you are home or not.

1Pick the days and times

Choose them in the free Smart Life app. It maps your home with a laser and cleans room by room in neat rows, instead of bumping around at random.

A real map from the app, made by the robot.

2It cleans while you get on with things

It vacuums and mops hard floors in the same pass, and vacuums your carpets and rugs. Up to 120 minutes on a charge in Quiet mode, enough for a bigger home.

3It goes home by itself

When it is done, or the battery runs low, it drives back to the dock, empties itself and recharges for next time.

So great for the in between cleans

My house gets really dusty and dirty especially in the high traffic areas. I have 2 kids that play a lot of sport so there's always mud, grass and debris on the carpets and as a busy working mum, I struggle to keep up with the housework on a daily basis. I love that the Robo Vac cleans for me so I can get on with the cooking or the laundry, and then takes itself back to the dock and empties itself. It really is quite surprising how much dirt it picks up. The self empty feature is a winner for me as I don't have to keep emptying the cannister.

    Saves me so much time

[Kleva Internal Tester Review] I took this home for 2 weeks to test this vacuum and honestly it made life so much easier! I was able to schedule it to go on at a certain time from the app so my floors were always clean when I was coming home from work. Felt like my floors were cleaning themselves!

Keeps on top of the cat hair

    [Kleva Internal Tester Review]

How I used it: I took the Robo VacIQ home and used it as our everyday vacuum, over the whole house, hard floors and carpet, with a cat who leaves hair on everything.

What I loved: Cat hair is the real test in our house and it passes. It lifts the hair off the floor rather than pushing it around, so I am not going back over the room afterwards with a stick vacuum. The other surprise was the station. I had cleared a space for something much bigger, and it ended up tucked under one of the dining chairs where nobody notices it. It empties itself into the base, so the only job left for me is taking the dust out every few weeks.

What to keep in mind: Long pile carpet is where it is weakest. Rather than fight it, I marked that area as a no-go zone in the app, which took about a minute, and now it cleans around it and does the rest of the house without me thinking about it. If your whole home is long pile shag, this is not the machine for you. If you have one rug like I do, blocking it off costs you nothing.

    I fired my broom

I bought the Self Empty Robo VacIQ Robot Vacuum and Mop, and now my broom is basically unemployed.

This little robot cruises around the house like it pays rent, picking up dust, crumbs, and pet hair while I sit on the couch pretending to supervise. The self-emptying feature is my favorite part.

    Makes Cleaning Easier

I've been really happy with the Self Empty Robo VacIQ Robot Vacuum and Mop. It does a great job picking up dust, crumbs, and pet hair, and the self-emptying feature means I don't have to think about it very often.

What it does, and how to get the best from it

Five jobs it handles on its own, and five easy habits that keep it at its best in your home.

It does

  • Vacuum hard floors, carpet and rugs
  • Mop hard floors in the same pass
  • Fit under beds and sofas with 10cm of clearance
  • Sense the edge of a step with its drop sensors
  • Go home to empty and recharge

Best results when you

  • Unclip the mop on carpet days, and it vacuums only
  • Set long-pile rugs as a no-go zone, and it cleans around them
  • Pick up cords and socks first, so it has a clear run
  • Connect it to your Wi-Fi's 2.4GHz band
  • Swap the filter about every three months

Questions before you buy

Will it get stuck?

It senses edges, bumps and furniture as it goes and climbs over thresholds up to 1.8cm. Pick up loose cords and socks first, and if it ever does get caught, it tells you through the app.

Does it handle pet hair?

Yes. Our own tester's cat hair got lifted off the floor rather than pushed around, and it all ends up in the dock's bin, not on your hands.

Can I keep it off the rug or out of one room?

Yes. Once it has mapped your home, draw a no-go zone in the app and it stays out.

Do I have to use the app?

The two buttons on top start a clean and send it home. Schedules, room-by-room cleaning, suction and water levels and no-go zones are set in the free Smart Life app, which needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Will it fit under my bed?

It stands 9.9cm tall, so it fits under beds and sofas with at least 10cm of clearance.

How often do I empty it?

The dock holds 2.5 litres, so you tip it out every few weeks. It is bagless, so there is nothing to buy.

What if it is not for me, or it breaks?

You have 120 days to try it at home, with your money back if it is not for you, and a 2-year warranty covers the robot and the dock. Our Australian team is on 02 9387 4100 if anything goes wrong.

I have a code from a creator. Does it work?

Yes. Enter it at checkout and it takes 10% off. Each code works once per customer, and codes cannot be combined.

What does shipping cost?

Nothing. Shipping is free on the Robo VacIQ, anywhere in Australia.

Can I pay later?

Yes. Afterpay, PayPal and Zip are all available at checkout.
